OPABIN Sand & Gravel Inc. is a proudly Indigenous-owned company providing aggregate supply, custom crushing, and contracting services across Alberta and Western Canada.  

 

Our business model is a combination of active supply and aggregate materials to contractors, and working with other Indigenous communities and businesses to develop their own aggregate supply sources that they can use to build resource capacity.  

 

We are committed to Indigenous economic development, creating employment and delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions for our partners and communities.

CREATING CAPACITY

A large part of how we operate and build value for our clients is our collaborative approach to logistics planning including:

 

  • performing direct delivery of materials using partners delivery fleet from OPABIN supply sites.

  • support with developing a logistics and transportation plan and coordinating with trucking services to ensure timely deliveries to the customer.

  • crushing of aggregates supplied from our active resources or our custom crushing projects.
    to support inclusion and promote partnership building.

  • networking with other Nation-member owned services and businesses across Western Canada

  • clearing and grubbing, adhering to all environmental standards and practices that ensure we are conscientious protectors of the habitat and local wildlife; maintaining a respectful relationship as caretakers & stewards of the Land.

The main goals with our sites is to support Indigenous Communities in strengthening self-sufficiency & capacity
building

Our mentorship opportunities and training to work programs give Indigenous members experience and
training in the following areas:

  • trucking logistics

  •  heavy equipment operation

  • crushing operations & operators

  • screening operations & operators

  • wash plant operations & operators

  • safety training

  • support with PPE, CSTS

  • 2020, WHIMIS, etc.

We are COR Certified through the Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) program, which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the highest safety standards in Alberta.  

 

We remain fully accountable through provincial regulations and industry-recognized safety programs.

Our operations follow all applicable legislation and meet or exceed the standards set by the Alberta Sand & Gravel Association (ASGA) on every one of our worksites.
